How to summarise text with AI
Paste the text or open a file, pick Short, Paragraph or Bullets, and press Summarise. A small AI model reads it in your browser and writes the summary word by word. Copy it when it is done.
Add the text
Paste it, or open a TXT, Markdown or PDF file. Up to 120,000 characters, about 20,000 words.
Choose a length
Short is one or two sentences. Paragraph is a short paragraph. Bullets is three to six points.
Summarise
The first time, the AI model downloads (290 to 800 MB) and stays on your device. A page of text takes a few seconds on a graphics card and 10 to 30 seconds on a processor.
Long texts and PDFs
The models read about 3,000 words at once. A longer text is cut into parts at paragraph and sentence breaks; each part gets a few sentences of notes, and the notes are then summarised together. The progress shows which part is being read.
A PDF is read from the text it already contains. A scanned PDF has none: turn it into text first with Image and PDF to text, then paste that here.
Where does the text go?
It stays on your device. The AI model downloads from this site once and runs right in your browser.

Questions
No. The AI model is downloaded to your browser and runs there. Your text and the summary stay on your device.
Up to 120,000 characters, about 20,000 words. Texts longer than about 2,000 words are read in parts: each part is summarised, then the parts are summarised together.
Mostly, for plain texts. A small model can miss a point or get a detail wrong, so check names, numbers and dates against the original before you rely on them.
