Mbps to MB/s
Short answer
Divide by 8, because a byte is 8 bits: 100 Mbps = 12.5 MB/s, and 1 Gbps = 125 MB/s. Windows and some apps show MiB/s, which is about 5% smaller again.
Common speeds
| Line speed | MB/s | MiB/s | 1 GB takes |
|---|---|---|---|
| 10 Mbps | 1.25 MB/s | 1.192 MiB/s | 13 min 20 s |
| 25 Mbps | 3.125 MB/s | 2.98 MiB/s | 5 min 20 s |
| 50 Mbps | 6.25 MB/s | 5.96 MiB/s | 2 min 40 s |
| 100 Mbps | 12.5 MB/s | 11.92 MiB/s | 1 min 20 s |
| 200 Mbps | 25 MB/s | 23.84 MiB/s | 40 s |
| 300 Mbps | 37.5 MB/s | 35.76 MiB/s | 26.67 s |
| 500 Mbps | 62.5 MB/s | 59.6 MiB/s | 16 s |
| 1 Gbps | 125 MB/s | 119.2 MiB/s | 8 s |
| 2.5 Gbps | 312.5 MB/s | 298 MiB/s | 3.2 s |
| 10 Gbps | 1,250 MB/s | 1,192 MiB/s | 800 ms |

Questions
No. MB (capital B) is megabytes, Mb or Mbit (small b) is megabits, and 1 MB is 8 Mb. The calculator reads lower-case “mb” as megabytes, except right after “at” or “over”, where it means a line speed.
