What is an MSIX file?
In short
MSIX (and the older AppX) is the Windows app package: a ZIP with the app, its AppxManifest.xml and a signature.
The app’s name, package, version, publisher, architecture and minimum Windows from its manifest, then every file. Bundles list their packages.
How to open an MSIX file
- Add your MSIX. Drop the file in the box, choose it or paste it.
- Look at it. The app’s name, package, version, publisher, architecture and minimum Windows from its manifest, then every file. Bundles list their packages.
- Take it further. Download any file from inside an archive, or open another file.
