What changes
| JSON to XML | What happens |
|---|---|
| Root | A single top-level key becomes the root element; anything else is wrapped in <root> |
| Lists | Repeat their element: one <item> per entry, or the key’s name |
| Attributes | Keys starting with @ become attributes, #text the element’s text |
| Names | Keys XML cannot use (spaces, a leading digit) get underscores; the note names them |
| Escaping | &, < and > are escaped, so any text is safe |
