How to remove an object from a photo
Open the photo, press Start removing, and paint over the object. When you let go, AI fills the spot with background that fits. Undo or Try another fill if it is not right, then save at full size.
Open a photo
Drop it on the box, choose it, or paste it. JPG, PNG, WebP, GIF, BMP and AVIF open, up to 24 megapixels.
Start removing
The first time, the AI model (MI-GAN, 28 MB) and its runtime download once and stay on your device.
Paint over the object
With the brush, or draw a box around it. Cover a little past its edges and its shadow. Each fill takes a second or two.
Save
In the photo's own format, at its full size. Only the painted spots change.
Tips for a clean fill
- Paint a few pixels past the object, and include its shadow and reflection
- Remove a large object in two or three strokes rather than one: each fill sees the area around it in more detail
- Try another fill gives a different result for the same spot; Undo goes back one fill at a time
- Plain backgrounds, sky, grass, walls and water fill best; faces and text cannot be rebuilt
Where does the photo go?
It stays on your device. The AI model downloads from this site once and runs right in your browser, on your graphics card if it can, otherwise on your processor.

Questions
No. The AI model is downloaded to your browser and runs there. Your photo stays on your device.
No. Only the painted spots and a soft rim of a few pixels around them are filled; every other pixel is kept as it was, at full size.
The model fills at 512 × 512 pixels around each spot. A very large spot is scaled down to fit, so it comes back softer. Paint it in smaller parts, one after another.
