What is a Plist file?
A plist (property list) is how macOS and iOS store settings and app information, as XML or as a binary file that starts with bplist00.
The values as a tree you open branch by branch: dictionaries, lists, strings, numbers and booleans, dates as ISO text in UTC, and data as its size and first bytes. Binary plists are read by our own reader, which refuses objects that refer to themselves.
